In the years since I've joined the fabulous band Los Blaggards, I've been tapped annually to play the bass on quite a few numbers at The Elvis Show, a truly fun and entertaining night held every January on Long Island, to benefit food pantry charities.
It's Elvis music all night long, with several backing bands and a cavalcade of singers (every song a different singer). Best of all: No Impersonators; it's all about the music.
This year, the show is being presented by the New York Roots Music Association (and Saturday Night Social Club) Saturday January 29th 8pm at the YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts Theatre (Bay Shore) NY… and it sold out a couple of weeks ago.
But I'm here to tell you how you might be able to get some last minute tickets: After 12 noon the day of the show, call the Boulton Center box office, 631-969-1101 and ask for Robin. She's apparently compiling a waiting list for ticket cancellations and/or no-show's. See you there!
