#Live #Recording: @roriekelly and Mariann Megna #LiveOnTheFarm May 9, 2015

This is a recording of the second "Live On The Farm" house concert we had at the Lantern Sound Recording Rig. We've been behind on the production of video/audio from this house concert series; thankfully, that's because this summer has been busy on the performance and recording fronts. The video portion of this show is now finally moving into edit. Here's some audio selections from that show. Jean Schroeder joins Mariann on percussion, while Claire Raby joins Rorie on harmony vocals.

Here's the recording from our first show featuring ROB EUROPE and BRYAN GALLO.

☀ Unique Recording Studio Live-In Opportunity ☀

- SEPT 1, 2015 -

The Lantern Sound Recording Rig is looking for working musicians and/or creative types housemates who want to live in two available bedrooms in this historical, and magical Long Island Pine Barrens three-story farmhouse, home to a full-blown recording studio (on the first floor). Housemates will be able to use the recording studio. This is also ideal for those who would want to apprentice in the audio recording field. (Remember, Full-Sail University in Florida costs $40K a year.)

We are conveniently located right at the gateway to both the North and South Forks of Long Island.

Southampton  -  30 minutes
Long Island Wine Country  -  15 minutes
Long Island Expressway (Hampton Jitney Stop) - 1 mile
Ronkonkoma LIRR Station - 20 minutes
Queens Midtown Tunnel - 1 hour 15 minutes

For $700 a month including utilities, a housemate here at the farm would have their own second floor bedroom, access to the full recording facilities here, plus:

Office space on the first floor.
Second floor full bath, including tub.
Plenty of storage space.
Use of the third floor loft.
Two Requirements: References, and a $700 security deposit.

The House
The farmhouse is located on an old horse farm that's been fully refurbished, yet it has no horses. Hiking, ponds, hunting and all major services are nearby.

There is a big country kitchen (gas stove/oven, dishwasher, plenty of cabinet space) with adjoining bathroom on the first floor, a front office with washer/dryer and slop sink, an open front porch, and a closed-in back porch that opens onto a deck. Heat is via municipal natural gas.

The Front Parlour
The farmhouse has plaster-and-lath walls, with original dark wood trim and vintage wall paper throughout. There is a winding stairwell leading up to the second and third floors.

Both available bedrooms have great views of open rural area.

LIVE AT THE FARM #HouseConcert No. 5: SAT AUG 8 Libby Johnson / Lynn Blue & Mick Hargreaves

8PM Saturday August 8th, 2015 The Lantern Sound Recording Rig presents the fifth installment of "LIVE ON THE FARM", a house concert series and ongoing recording session all rolled into one, taking place in a historical farmhouse tucked away in Long Island's Pine Barrens. Doors open at 8pm, Music at 8:30pm.

     Libby Johnson

Libby Johnson started recording her follow-up to 2006’s acclaimed "Annabella," between the trails (or trials) of living as a troubadour artist, moving from New York to a rural setting and back again, family life and various activist projects. In January 2010 Perfect View was released on the Wrong Records label. Sometimes wistful in tone, Perfect View’s sweeping moods encompass such life changes.

“Spellbinding” -Philadelphia Inquirer “...beautiful, bittersweet...her songs move seamlessly from searching and yearning to bruised and ominous....” -New York Daily News “Johnson’s vocals are versatile- alternately tough and tender, changing as the song demands, and offering something to please every listener” -Performing Songwriter “ unexpected of the best debuts of the year...”Steve Greenlee, Boston Globe

Lynn Blue and Mick Hargreaves brand-new vocal duet venture has delighted audiences wherever they've performed locally in 2015. This will be their first venture into the studio.
